I’m sure you guys know the experience… you’re surfing myspace and click on some user, and suddenly, everything stops… your buttons don’t work and the user’s profile is totally blank… that is, until about ten seconds go by.
This sort of thing is typical for users, but for businesses, bands, or any type of profile that has commercial ties, this is a definite NO-NO! The reason it takes so long for some of these pages to load is because they have too much crap stuff on their profile page and loading all of it takes forever. MySpace pages tend to load all at once, so users won’t be able to view your profile until all of it has been loaded. Remember to keep it slim, and if you need more space, use your blog pages. The blog pages are great way to expand information and use them as additional pages as if your profile was a website.
Earlier I posted a tutorial on optimizing your profile with some good limits and tips. Check it out here if you’re interested.
