Coming this Spring - Facebook is redesigning their profile pages to be more efficient and easier to browse!
The new Profile will be tabbed with separate pages for basic/personal information, the wall, photos, and other things you would like, such as applications. One of the most controversial right now seems to be the wall
The new wall will be integrated with the mini-feed. It’s obvious why Facebook is taking this step - to increase the average user activity and page views. If a user is forced to sift through other stories when looking for recent wall postings, or even leaving them, they will be more inclined to see stories that are interesting and read them, therefore increasing the overall activity on the network. It’s clever, but a lot of users are expressing their disagreement with the new wall/feed combination. On a side note, I’m assuming some ads will end up in this combination also, hence improving the click revenue for Facebook on cpc (cost-per-click) ads.

If you’re interested in reading more and seeing more pics, you can check check out their Page. If you become a fan, you can receive updates (with new screen shots) every week about the present state of the new Profile redesign.

Facebook has been changing to compete for its target market. Some of those changes may not seem good but the redesigning thing would truly help them.
I think the profile redesign will, ultimately, be viewed as a good change. Of course, it sucks because it will be such a rapid departure from the current layout and navigation structure of Facebook.
However, I must say, I’m glad that they’re not going about this hastily. If enough users speak out and speak up, I don’t think Facebook would be able to justify rolling the wall in together with the mini-feed. Time will tell.
